1. March 1st - NSSLHA Grant Application Due!

NSSLHA chapters in good standing are eligible to receive grants up to $1,000 to support educational, clinical, and professional development activities for students in communication science and disorders programs. Regional Project Funds should be used to enable NSSLHA members to expand their knowledge of the profession through the development of materials, conferences, workshops, and sessions.

This award program funds local chapters that wish to provide resources to nonprofit organizations that assist others living with a communication disorder. NSSLHA chapters in good standing are eligible to receive matching funds assistance up to $1,000 to purchase equipment (e.g., AAC devices, computers and/or peripheral computer devices) or other materials (e.g., clinical tests, software) to donate to a nonprofit organization.

2. May 1st - NSSLHA Honors Nominations for Outstanding NSSLHA Members/Student Due!

Local NSSLHA chapters may nominate one audiology and one speech-language pathology major to receive Member Honors. Member Honors are awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, service to the academic unit, professional conduct, and service to NSSLHA. Any college or university junior, senior, or graduate student who is a member of both national and the local chapter is eligible for consideration.

3. June 30th - Last Day to Give to "NSSLHA Loves"!

"NSSLHA Loves" is an annual community service activity which promotes fundraising among NSSLHA members in support of national organizations that work with people living with communication disorders. One hundred percent of the donations raised by our members go to the recipient organization.

Who is the recipient of the 2007-2008 NSSLHA Loves campaign?

The Starkey Hearing Foundation Hear Now program assists deaf and hard-of-hearing persons with limited financial resources who permanently reside within the United States.
