Get ready for some serious holiday shopping. Join us at a Chicago institution—the world-famous Marshall Field’s department store—for the 2003 ASHFoundation shopping spree!
Marshall Field’s has joined the ASHFoundation in presenting this unique opportunity for fun, excitement, shopping, and more!! Marshall Field’s landmark store—on State Street—will host this PRIVATE shopping event JUST FOR ASHA on Thursday night. Shuttles will depart at 7:30 pm and you can shop from 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
The fun begins when you arrive, with a complimentary coffee and dessert reception awaiting you in the world famous Walnut Room. The Walnut Room will be “dressed to the nines” for the holidays—including the 45’ “Great Tree” decorated with 15,000 lights and 1,200 specially designed ornaments that reflect the annual holiday theme.
Then, let the shopping begin! Attendees will receive a 10% savings certificate valid for purchases of regular priced merchandise, and many other special discounts and incentives will be available. Also—all attendees will be entered into a drawing for door prizes—including a Marshall Field’s gift certificate!
Your ticket price includes shuttle bus service to Marshall Field’s from the McCormick Place Convention Center and return transportation to ASHA hotels.

It is fitting that this location, set in the heart of Chicago’s cultural campus, will mark the announcement of our 2003 awardees. These talented individuals use knowledge, intellect, and skill to advance the field of communication sciences. Foundation donors play an equally essential part in cultivating and enriching this talent through their support. Pay tribute to these honorees and learn about new Foundation programs and events. Hear a provocative and entertaining address by Dr. Leonard L. LaPointe, the Florida State University Francis Eppes Professor of Communication Disorders. Dr. LaPointe is a leading scholar in the area of neurogenic disorders, internationally known for his insightful research and innovative clinical practice, and a master teacher and mentor.
