The session will feature ASHA President Larry Higdon's presidential address, as well as welcoming remarks from Convention Program Co-Chairs Kenn Apel and Dennis Burrows. Other fun and entertaining surprises will also await you during this event! Among these is a keynote address by bestselling author and personal finance expert Suze Orman, who has been called "a force in the world of personal finance" and a "one-woman financial advice powerhouse" by USA Today. She is the author of four consecutive New York Times bestsellers, The Laws of Money: The Lessons of Life; The Road to Wealth; The Courage to Be Rich; and The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom; and the national bestsellers, Suze Orman's Financial Guidebook and You've Earned It, Don't Lose It.
Profiled in Worth magazine as among those "who have revolutionized the way America thinks about money," Suze was also named one of Smart Money magazine's top 30 "Power Brokers." She recently received a 2003 Crossing Borders Award from the Feminist Press, which recognizes a distinguished group of women who not only have excelled in remarkable careers, but have also shown great courage, vision, and conviction by forging new places for women in their respective fields.
The personal finance editor on CNBC, Suze hosts her own national CNBC-TV show, which airs every weekend. She recently garnered an American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) Gracie Allen Award for "The Suze Orman Show" in the National/Network/Syndication Talk Show category. The Graciesª recognize the nation's best radio, television, and cable programming for, by, and about women.
Suze is a contributing editor for O Magazine and recently won a daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Service Show for the PBS special "The Laws of Money: The Lessons of Life."
