Legislative Council at Convention

Legislative Council Membership Forum

Saturday, November 17
Time will be published in Convention Daily
Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel, Grand Ballroom

The Legislative Council, along with the Executive Board, shapes ASHA's future direction, and they would like to hear from you. During the ASHA Legislative Council (LC) meeting, members have an opportunity to speak directly to councilors by participating in the Membership Forum. ASHA members can sign up to speak by completing the Request to Speak Form.

Forms will also be available at the ASHA Information Booths at the Convention Center. All forms must be submitted to Room 201 of the Convention Center by 5:00 pm, Friday, November 16. The list and order of speakers will be posted outside the Grand Ballroom by 6:30 am Saturday, November 17.

Aware that many members won't be in Boston for the Convention, the LC is also offering members another way to participate–by e-mail. If you are not able to attend the Convention, please submit your thoughts and comments by Friday, October 26, as follows:

  • Include your full name, ASHA membership #, and the subject matter/issue you are writing about.
  • Your message should be no more than 500 words.
  • If you would like your comments to go specifically to the Audiology/Hearing Science Assembly or the Speech-Language Pathology/Speech or Language Science Assembly, please designate that in your message. The Assembly Membership Forums will be held at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel on Saturday, November 17, time to be published in Convention Daily.
  • Send your comments to Natalie Wilson at nwilson@asha.org. All comments from members will be posted on the ASHA Web site and distributed to Legislative Councilors at their meeting.
