Audiologist or Speech-Language Pathologist

No additional requirements for audiologists to provide services in schools, other than state licensure.
Support Personnel
To work as an audiology assistant, the individual must be state licensed and have a baccalaureate degree with an emphasis on communicative sciences and disorders and no fewer than 25 hours of clinical observation and 25 hours of clinical assisting experience.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) does not require speech-language pathologists to meet additional requirements to provide services in schools, other than state licensure. TEA no longer issues certificates in speech-language therapy, but individuals who hold a lifetime TEA certificate in speech and hearing therapy or speech-language therapy may practice in public schools without a license.
