Conference Information
Join us in Saratoga Springs, New York, for the 24th annual State Association Workshop (formerly the State Policy Workshop). Designed for state association leaders, the workshop informs you about federal and state legislative and policy issues/trends, and helps you acquire the tools to become a more effective leader and advocate for the professions. An interactive format gives you the chance to exchange information with peers, colleagues, and ASHA leaders and staff on issues that affect your association and the professions.
At this year's exciting workshop you will explore the challenges and successes associated with reimbursement and how to better advocate for the professions along with examining ASHA's public policy agenda and the federal and state implications for the next phase of early hearing detection and intervention (EHDI) coverage. You will learn about Web design innovations for state associations and the new regionalization of states model. You'll also have the opportunity to engage in an action planning process. During the Workshop issues in scope of practice, the shortage of bilingual speech-language pathologists (SLPs), and telepractice will also be discussed. The ever popular roundtables will conclude the Workshop on Friday. The spring meeting of the Council of State Association Presidents (CSAP) will immediately follow the workshop.
