2006 Schools Survey Archive

ASHA conducted the 2006 Schools Survey to gather information about professional issues related to school-based services. Results from this survey are presented in the following series of reports. 

The following documents are in PDF format and require the Adobe Acrobat® reader (Version 5.0 or greater) to be viewed and printed. This reader is free and may be downloaded from the Adobe Web site.

This report presents data on the caseloads of speech-language pathologists employed in schools.

This report presents data on the frequency of responses to each of the survey's 34 questions.

This report presents data on the salaries of speech-language pathologists employed in schools.
 
Survey Methodology, Respondent Demographics, and Glossary Report [PDF] 
This report presents information on survey methodology (e.g., sample design and response rate), descriptions of respondents (employment status, facility and function, salary basis, highest degree, years of experience, etc.), and a glossary of terms used in the reports (i.e., facilities, random sample, response rate, averages, regions of the country).

Workforce Report [PDF]
This report presents data on the workforce of speech-language pathologists employed in schools.

Caseload Trends Report [PDF]
This report presents data on the caseloads of speech-language pathologists employed in schools over an 11-year time period (from 1995-2006.)

Salary Trends Report [PDF]
This report presents data on the salaries of speech-language pathologists employed in schools over a two-year time period (from 2004-2006.)

Workforce and Working Conditions Trends Report [PDF]
