Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has a much higher incidence rate than better known illnesses like breast cancer and AIDS. However, access to care is questionable—results of a new poll of members of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) indicate that the unavailability of insurance coverage is a major hindrance.
The host of Civilian Traumatic Brain Injury: The Other Story, ASHA will release the results of the poll, which it commissioned and was conducted by Zogby International. In addition, there will be comment by leading TBI experts, and TBI patients will be on-hand and tell their personal stories.
