Digital and Print Photography Requirements

Digital photos submitted for publication should be taken at the highest resolution setting on your camera. Parameters are: 1200 x 1800 pixels and at least 4"x6" in size. The file should be saved as a "jpeg" format.

The Leader cannot accept photos that are:

  • Embedded in another file type, such as a PowerPoint or Word document
  • Downloaded from a Web site, as these typically do not meet resolution requirements for print publication
  • Taken with a camera phone
  • Resized from a smaller image. A 72 dpi image, for example, that is electronically resized to 300 dpi is not acceptable

Authors are welcome to submit photos by e-mail to their staff contact. If the photo file size is too large to be sent by e-mail, photos can be sent on a CD. If you are submitting a print photo, a color 5"x7" is preferred.
