I joined NSSLHA because: it was a great opportunity for me to learn more about the field of speech pathology, interact with my peers and professionals at Duquesne University, as well as serve the community.
I applied for a position on the NSSLHA Executive Council because: I feel that it is very important for individual NSSLHA chapters to have a good relationship with the NSSLHA Executive Council. NSSLHA is a great organization that helps students connect with other students and professionals. A clear and reliable form of communication is necessary for NSSLHA to be successful. I feel that I am very qualified and have the ability to effectively communicate with individual NSSLHA chapters as well as the Executive Council. I am very passionate about my NSSLHA membership and I hope to share that with other members of NSSLHA throughout the region.
During my two-year term on the Executive Council, I will be successful if I accomplish: My goal of helping individual chapters in my region realize they are a part of a greater organization. Individual chapters should understand that their contributions as members of NSSLHA impacts the areas of speech, language and hearing. I hope to increase the visibility of the Executive Council to NSSLHA chapters, and be available to assist chapters in establishing relationships with the Executive Council.
My vision for my region is: to help all members of NSSLHA feel more united. We are all members of a great organization, and I would like to see the NSSLHA chapters of my region interact more and help each other in service projects and education. I want every NSSLHA chapter to feel that their involvement in NSSLHA makes a difference, and that there are many opportunities and useful resources provided by the NSSLHA.
