Learn more about the Region 3 Regional Councilor Sara Davis:

Sara Davis

Academic Status: 2nd year Doctoral Student

Major: Audiology

University: The University of Memphis

Area of interest: Pediatrics, Electrophysiology, CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorders)

I joined NSSLHA because: I joined NSSLHA because it was a organization that provided me with information regarding my future profession. I also loved the benefit of being able to use the online journals which has helped me greatly throughout my collegiate and graduate education. NSSLHA has kept me updated on current trends and information in our fields.

I applied for a position on the NSSLHA Executive Council because: I am applying for this position after serving on our local chapter's NSSLHA board. I served as the Audiology Program Chair, serving to organize the 39th Annual MidSouth Conference on Communicative Disorders. This conference is student run and takes place every year in Memphis, Tennessee. After having the opportunity to speak with many well known professionals in our field, and being able to bring them to Memphis for our students and professionals to meet, I have an ever increasing desire to remain involved not only at a local level, but also at a national level. This would give me the opportunity to be an advocate for the students in Region 3. I also have a desire to gain knowledge of the happenings of the national office.

My vision for Region 3 is: I would like for our region to be well informed. Students need to see the offers that they can take advantage of. I would also like to see more of us become advocates for those who we see in clinics during our education. It is never too soon to become involved in the profession.
