Learn more about the Region 7 Regional Councilor Roger Reeter:
Academic status: 1st year Master's Student
Major: Speech-Language Pathology
Expected date of graduation: May 2012

Area of professional interest: Not yet determined
I joined NSSLHA because: I knew that I needed a club that I could commence professionally, and put me into a situation where I am in control of my future. I think NSSLHA is an important step in any student's career, and I would love to contribute to the fortification of an entire region of marvelous future professionals. The resources that a club for similar goal oriented students will provide a support system for me that I am more than willing to provide to others.
I applied for a position on the NSSLHA Executive Council because: I have served two years previously as the Region 7 Councilor and I wanted to contribute longevity and experience to the board. I want to continue to work hard for all of the CSD students across the country and in my region. I believe that I could fill any position with the integrity and competency that is required. Not only could I do a good job, but I also realize how important my position in my region would be, so I will do anything to accommodate the needs of my region and National NSSLHA.
My two year term on the council will be successful if: I will be successful if I accomplish the job of increasing student participation in national issues. I want every student to be in touch with programs such as grass roots advocacy so that they can also influence our profession and to advocate for our clients.
My vision for my region is: to increase communication between all of the chapters in region VII. I want to have every chapter aware of positive activities that are helping to raise funds or increase local knowledge of communication disorders. Not only will separate chapters be in contact with me at all times, but I will also allow for communication between separate schools that may be of similar size and location to each other to hopefully trade significant ideas concerning improved involvement, service, and understanding of what we do as students.
