Executive Council Meeting Report

The NSSLHA Executive Council (EC) and Regional Council (RC) met virtually March 21, 2020. Here, you’ll find the Summary Report of the meeting.

Executive Council members in attendance were President Teffany Ventura, President-Elect Jordan Girola, Vice President for Finance Kevin Kock, Vice President for Planning Alison Dungca, Vice President for Academic Affairs Chelsea Woodard, Vice President for Student State Officers (SLP) Aya Khalil, Vice President for Student State Officers (AuD) Adrienne Graves, Vice President for Government Affairs and Public Policy Natalie Sfeir, Vice President for Programming (AuD) Brandon Roppel, Vice President for Programming (SLP) Rebecca Willer, Western Regional Councilor Leilani Melendrez, Central Regional Councilor Kaylee Genzel, Southern Regional Councilor Melissa Schenley, NSSLHA National Advisor Kia N. Johnson.

Absent: Northeastern Regional Councilor Jennifer Blake

NSSLHA Program Director Gennith Johnson, ASHA Director of the Office of Business Excellence Rozsa Felix, and ASHA Chief Executive Officer Arlene Pietranton, were in attendance.

Opening Remarks

The Spring 2020 NSSLHA EC business meeting was called to order at 11:02 a.m. on Saturday, March, 21, 2020, by President Teffany Ventura.

Leadership Activity

Ventura led a team building activity with all EC and RC members.

Strategic Planning

Felix led a discussion about the NSSLHA Strategic Plan and how the EC will review and monitor progress of the plan. The EC voted to approve the plan as submitted.

2020 Student Leadership Slate

The NSSLHA EC and RC discussed criteria and plan for selection of new Executive Council members.

ASHA Update

ASHA Chief Executive Officer Arlene Pietranton joined the meeting to discuss the current state of ASHA and shared information related to the Coronavirus. EC members shared how the Coronavirus has impacted students.

Coronavirus Update

Members of the EC and RC shared how the Coronavirus has impacted their academic programs and clinical practicums. The VPs for Programming collected questions and comments to share with the CFCC.

Closing Remarks

The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020.
