Conversion Discount
The NSSLHA to ASHA Conversion Discount is a one-time discount of $250 off the initial dues and fees for ASHA membership and certification.
Eligibility
To qualify, you must be a National NSSLHA member for the last 2 years of your master’s or doctoral program (including the year you graduate). Then, your next step is to apply for ASHA certification and membership by August 31 (up to the year after you graduate).

* Starting with the 2024 ASHA membership year, conversion-eligible NSSLHA members can save $250 off their initial dues and fees for ASHA membership and certification. You can purchase 2025 membership starting on September 3, 2024.

When to Apply for ASHA Membership and Certification
The best time to apply depends on your graduation date. In order to maximize your savings and best understand the optimal date to apply, take this online quiz.
Deadline
To redeem your discount, you must submit your application for ASHA membership and certification (and automatic application of the Conversion Discount) online before August 31 (up to the year after you graduate).
Do not wait to complete your clinical fellowship before applying for ASHA membership and certification. You can apply before, during, or after your clinical fellowship.
Application
The Conversion Discount is automatically applied when you submit your application for ASHA membership and certification.
Tips
- Apply for National NSSLHA membership.
- Renew your National NSSLHA membership for the last 2 years of your master’s or doctoral program. (Note: Chapter membership does not count toward discount eligibility.)
- Maintain current degree information in the NSSLHA/ASHA database.
- Maintain current email and postal mailing addresses in the NSSLHA/ASHA database.
Bonus Savings
New Professional Membership Package
ASHA's New Professional Membership Package gives up to 24 months of ASHA membership to recent master's and doctoral graduates who apply for ASHA membership and certification from January 1 to August 31. Applicants receive membership through December 31 of the following year.
Eligible National NSSLHA members can receive both the conversion discount and this package.
